Mr. Dancealot

In Mr. Dancealot video, it appears he is teaching a dance class but without physically learning. As you get farther along you realize it was staged. He was showing that if you do do not practice the skill physically then you will not be able to learn that skill. He made a case by not allowing the students to talk or leave their seat and by giving a final on dance. As a result, the students did not know how to dance. Yes, I agree with his conclusion because without being able to learn physically you are limiting what you are learning.

Teaching in the 21st Century

Robert believes Teaching in the 21st Century involves technology. Not just some technology but to teach you have to use technology for everything. I feel like it is quite sad how technology is taking over our life. Robert is correct everything has to be taught with technology. As me becoming an educator, now I must be able to use a computer and other things with skill. Instead of just learning the basics.

The Networked Students

I have quite wondered myself why we need teachers now and days. Everything we teach a computer could do. The only thing a computer can't do is be able to actually be there in person. We all need to have some human contact. Like me I am a visual learner I like to see the teacher and be able to meet with the teacher in person.

Harness Your Students' Digital Smarts

Davis' video is trying to help us understand that we can still have communication with the teachers but also be technology advanced. I was quite surprised with this video because I actually agree with her. We still need teachers and also be technology advanced at the same time. 

Flipping the Classroom

I have never heard of this before today. I do not like this idea at all. As a future teacher I hope I will not have to use this approach in the classroom. I just do not see students going home after a long day of school and activities and then have to teach themselves another lesson.

Blog Post 1

      When I first signed up for EDM 310, so many people was warning me to take this class last. They said this class will make you crazy. It was basically sink or swim kind of class. After hearing this I did not know what to expect on my first day in EDM 310. My only fear in not being able to keep up with all the new technology we will be learning in this class. EDM 310 is a course not like any other I have ever taken before.
         This class requires a lot of dedication and motivation. I am not very good with a computer besides the basics, so that will be my most difficult for me in EDM 310. I will have teach myself and practice to be able to do different things in the class room. I have no questions yet, because class has just started! I am sure once I get started I will have many questions.

Jeter, Erica Practice Post

My name is Erica Jeter. I have lived in Uriah, Alabama my whole life. I am engaged and I have a 6 month old daughter. I plan on becoming an Elementary Teacher. I chose USA because it was the only college closest to where I live and the tour was incredible. I love children so I chose to become an Elementary teacher, hopefully; I will teach Kindergarten.

A teacher’s work in the 21st century has changed tremendously. Now they have be very good at using computers and social networking sites. They have to have the ability to show students that everything is technology. I am very good with children. I seem to attract kids to me. I love teaching them and watching the amazed look on their face when they have learned something new.I would love to get better at using the computer.
